In 2008, a summit will be held in Japan to discuss international issues such as the environment, poverty, medical treatments and education. TAKE ACTION! 2008's goal is to help more people hear the voices of the planet and build an awareness of problems facing the world today, both for the sake of each individual and for the future of the planet. The +1 (plus one) campaign is designed to challenge each individual to think of one contribution you can make to the world, and to take action.
TAKE ACTION! 2008 is about first getting more people to know – to become aware of global issues, and based on this to be inspired to take action. To facilitate this, there are two main branches to our project.

+1 TANZAKU takes the traditional Japanese concept of writing goals on a slip of paper (a tanzaku) and tying it to a tree branch, and adapts this to a method for everyone to record the contribution you can make, both for yourself and for the future of the planet.
We're calling for people to join us, think of your +1 and commit to taking action by writing on a tanzaku!
Make a contribution for the future of the planet Make your +1 promise as you write it on a tanzaku. Your dream will be linked to someone else's, and a huge interconnected world map will grow.
The goal of the +1 FOOTBALL MATCH is to employ the universal language that is football as the players' +1 – their contribution, and through this to inspire many others to each think of one contribution to make. This match also represents the kick off of the campaign, where people who have made a promise to take action can get together.
